Film Transfer

  1. Your web site states that it is possible to transfer film to a portable
hard drive. Would you need that hard drive in advance of the transfers? If
so, would you want the hard drive formatted for PC or Mac?

We would need your hard drive in advance. It must be format for PC (NTFS)
  2. Your web site mentions the .AVI, .MOV, and .MPEG2 file formats. I have
recently purchased a copy of Apple's Final Cut Express 4 (for this and
other projects) which imports into the DV, HDV, and AVCHD formats
(according to my handy manual!). Are the formats you support compatible
with this? Are you familiar with the software?

Final cut Pro 5 does. You can search the internet for compatibility with 4.
We do not take any responsibility if any issue arise because of this.
  3. Your web site mentions mailing of the films. I'm not comfortable with
that option. The films are VERY important to me (and my family). There are
no backup copies. Do you have a store/shop that I could come to and drop
    off the films?

We are local, Check contact us. We are located at
(6869 Springfield Blvd., Springfield, VA 22150)

Conversion
  1. What kind of converter do you use for converting PAL to NTSC or Vice Versa.

We use state of the art 4 field, motion interpolated broadcast digital converter.
This converter has high S/N ratio and high lines of resolutions.

Editing

 1. How long would it take to edit my video?

It is very difficult to provide accurate time limit for editing. It depends on the person

bringing the raw material in and how precise that individual is.

 2. Does the cost goes down as I put more hours in doing editing?

No, it stays the same. We charge 1.5 in after hour editing.

 3. Would I be taking my tape with me after editing is finished?

It depends on what we are doing. In most cases Yes. If you need extra copies and  your tape is one hour long, we suggest

you to come back next day.

 4. How experienced your editors are?

We have two full time editors and two part time. They have over 5 years experience in making the TV commercials
and assembling the TV shows. They are very familiar with their system. In other words, they don't waste time in figuring

out what procedure they should perform to do the editing. We keep up upgrading our systems with technology so that we

could give our clients what they are expecting in the present time.

 5. What kinds of editing can your studio provide?

We provide linear and non-linear editing. We use Avid, Adobe and Final Cut Pro
